The ingenuity of Israelis is once again reaffirmed. According to a report from BakerTilly Israel, Israelis have founded more “Unicorns” (privately owned startups with an estimated value of more than $1 billion) than any other nationality. These valuable companies include the traffic navigation app Waze (acquired by Google for over $1 billion) the Internet company ironSource, and the workspace developer WeWork which is worth an estimated $17 billion. According to the report:
"It's no simple matter to found a unicorn. It's no coincidence that unicorns were named after a mythical animal that nobody believes ever existed. Many countries don't even have a single unicorn such as technologically-strong Japan.”
